Stop the Power Plant-Data Center!
A Massive Threat to Tucker County & Blackwater Canyon
Tucker County is facing one of the most serious environmental threats in recent memory. Fundamental Data has proposed building a massive natural gas power plant to support one of the world’s largest data center complexes—right here in Blackwater Canyon.
This industrial-scale gas plant, comparable in size to the nearby Mount Storm power station, would sit less than two miles from Thomas, Davis, and the local elementary and middle school.
It would store 30 million gallons of diesel fuel on-site, putting our waterways, wildlife, and public safety at serious risk. The facility would emit over two million tons of carbon dioxide per year, along with other air pollutants linked to respiratory illness and long-term health impacts.
The proposed 10,000-acre development would irreversibly alter the landscape and character of Tucker County—threatening the scenic beauty, clean air and water, and vibrant communities that make this place so special.
